HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

The Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HLTAID009 training course will develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the lifesaving techniques of CPR on an adult and an infant. It includes the use of a defibrillator (AED) and is a nationally recognised VET qualification.

Course Fee $690 and includes up to ten (10) participants. Additional participants can be added for $69 per participant.

Entry requirements:

  • Reasonable level (AQF level 3) of spoken and written English (link to LLN assessment)
  • An adequate level of physical fitness to enable completion of practical components of course

Minimum Age Requirements: Nil although the participant must be able to interact in an adult learning environment

Certification:
Statement of Attainment that includes the following unit of competence:
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (valid for one (1) year)

Fee Includes: Learning and physical resources, statement of attainment

Course content includes:
All components are accessed via theory and/or practical demonstration by the participant

  • DRSABCD procedure
  • Principles & legalities of CPR
  • Responding to an emergency
  • Assessment for unconsciousness
  • Moving the casualty
  • Chain of survival
  • Infection control

Reasonable adjustments can be made to certain aspects of the course without affecting the outcomes required.
