Aquatic Rescue for Hydrotherapy is a specialised and recognised course tailored for physiotherapy students and professionals in the rehabilitation industry. The course equips participants with the skills to identify and prevent potential aquatic emergencies, respond swiftly to incidents, and provide appropriate emergency care.

Course Details

  • Course Fee: $1,530 (includes up to 10 participants)
  • Additional participants: $153 per person
  • Note: Plus pool entry & lane booking fees, if required.
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Delivery Mode: Face-to-Face
  • Location: Delivered at your premises, or a nearby aquatic centre can be arranged.
  • Pre-requisites: None
  • Minimum Age: 16 years
  • Certification:
  • Validity: Certificates are valid for 12 months
  • Includes: Instructor-led training and all learning resources

Course Content

  • Swimming Competency:
    • Swim 25 meters using a recognisable stroke
  • CPR Skills:
    • Perform effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Survival & Rescue Skills:
    • Demonstrate survival techniques and rescues in varied aquatic environments
  • Spinal Injury Management:
    • Basic management techniques for suspected spinal injuries in shallow water
  • Rescue Initiative:
    • Execute a simulated rescue of two drowning casualties in unknown conditions
  • Theory Topics:
    • Aquatic environments
    • Water safety
    • Rescue techniques
    • Resuscitation and basic injury management

National Certification Included

  • CPR Certificate (HLTAID009) – Nationally recognised and included in the course.
