The guidelines for safe pool operation (GSPO) SV9.7.1 states Pool Lifeguards are required to be assessed every twelve (12) months to demonstrate currency of their knowledge and skills
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation must be updated every 12 months from the date of completion, and is included in this course set.
Pool Lifeguarding requires a high degree of judgment, knowledge, skill, experience, and fitness in both day-to-day guarding and during emergencies. Regular updates to your training help sustain the lifeguard’s confidence and ability to prevent accidents and respond competently when they occur.
Course Duration: 5.5 hours – (3.5 hours practical + 2 hours online self-paced learning)
Delivery Mode: Face to Face
Location: The course is conducted at various locations within Western Australia.
Pre-requisites: You must hold a Current Pool Lifeguard Award or equivalent, along with a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. Copies of your certificates will be required before attending the course.
Minimum Age Requirements: 16 years
Certification: On successfully completing this course, candidates will receive the following awards:
• Pool Lifeguard Award/Licence (Valid for 12 months)
• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Valid for 12 months)
Our Perth course fee is $2690, which includes up to ten (10) participants. Additional participants can be added at the cost of $269 per participant.
Our Broome course fee is $3290, which includes up to ten (10) participants. Additional participants can be added at the cost of $329 per participant.

The minimum number required for a group booking is ten
• Online theory exam
• PD / Workshop session on the latest industry developments/changes/updates
• perform infant and adult cpr inc AED & oxygen
• Maintain Resuscitation Equipment – Oxygen setup/takedown / Use in resuscitation
• Complete an Equipment Fault Log
• recognise and respond to three (3) scenarios
• identify the common signs and signals of a person experiencing difficulties in the water and possible contributing factors.
