West Coast Water Safety staff are amongst the most experienced professional lifeguard, water safety, and event safety staff in Australia. Our staff are drawn from Trigg & Scarborough beaches, two of Western Australia’s busiest and most dangerous, Dealing with 1.5 million international visitors per year. We have helicopter rescue crew, paramedics, nurses, teachers and even an ex Bondi Lifeguard or two on staff.

All our staff are Professional Ocean Lifeguards with the following minimum qualifications:

• Bronze Medallion / Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
• On-scene controllers hold Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
• Advanced resuscitation certificate (HLTAID015)
• Provide first aid (HLTAID011) or occupational first aid (HLTAID016) certificate
• Spinal Management certification
• Analgesic Gases Pain Management – Penthrane (Methoxyflurane) certificate
• Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Combined course
• Defibrillation Operators Certificate
• 800-meter pool swim (50mtr pool) in less than 14 minutes
• Lifeguard Mission (800m beach run + 600m board paddle in surf + 600m surf swim + 800m beach run
• Simulated tube rescue of patient 100+ meters offshore in the surf
• Simulated board rescue of patient 200+ meters offshore in the surf
• Simulated drowning resuscitation
• Working With Children certification
• National Police clearance

Rescue craft drivers & crew also hold the following additional awards:

• Recreational Skippers Ticket
• IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) Drivers Award and/or
• RWC (Rescue Watercraft or Jeski) drivers award

Drone operators hold the following:

• Remote Pilot License (RePL)
• ReOC remotely piloted aircraft operator’s certificate is held by the company.
